How Hard Is It To Get A Fiery Furnace Permit?

March though November it will be extremely difficult. The best and easiest time to secure permits is December through February. There are some things you can do to improve your changes of securing a permit. If you’re interested, visit our Permit Info Page.

How Do I Navigate On A Self-Guided Hike?

Fiery Furnace might be the only hike with no map, but that is exactly what makes it so special.

PARK ARROWS

There are sparsely placed arrows along the route to guide hikers, but about 50% of them are not easy to spot. On average more than half of independent hikers get lost and never see the whole loop.

GPS APPs

GPS apps are helpful, but if you read the reviews many people still get lost due to the extraordinarily maze-like landscape. GPS can only confirm where you are, but will not show you where to go.

OUR 5 STAR GUIDE

Our self-guided tour of the Fiery Furnace shows you exactly where to go by referencing photographs of identifiable landmarks – the only way to navigate the maze successfully! Explore freely and see it all!

Fiery Furnace Permit Details

Permit cost is $10 per person and it is available online only at recreation.gov 7 days in advance at 8am MT..

BOOK 7 DAYS AHEAD

Permit sales open 7 days in advance at 8am MT on recreation.gov. This is the only way to secure permits. They are no longer available in person.
