Fiery Furnace – One of The Best Hikes In The World

“Amazing Hike”, “My favorite place on earth”, “beautiful”, “highlight of our vacation” – this is how visitors describe their experience inside the area known as the Fiery Furnace in Arches National Park. And they aren’t wrong. As someone who has done the hike dozens of times, I am just as excited to do this hike today as I was many years ago on my first visit. Some people call it a challenging hike, but in reality it’s a short and relatively moderate 2 miles. Why the challenge? Because it’s a maze, it’s a labyrinth and many people trying to get through on their own get lost at least once during their hike. That can cause some anxiety since you can feel disoriented and you might feel like even retracing your steps so far can be difficult to accomplish with all the turns and dead ends along the way. There is no map of the Fiery Furnace and GPS guide can only show you where you are, but often fail to indicate which one of the three slot canyons in front of you to take. Our guide is based on pictures and easily recognizable rock features and is the best guide to assure you get through successfully, without anxiety and get to see all the hidden treasures!
